The Narrative

The Soul of the Object

This spectacular decorative urn is a masterpiece of Moroccan artisanry, hailing from the historic pottery centers of Safi. It represents a harmonious fusion of three distinct crafts: pottery, metalwork, and inlay. The base is a hand-thrown Natural Clay vessel, painted with vibrant, traditional patterns in deep teals, reds, and yellows. This ceramic canvas is then enveloped in an elaborate lattice of hand-wrought white metal filigree, creating a stunning metallic exoskeleton.

Within the metal framework, artisans have meticulously inlaid polished, teardrop-shaped pieces of ethically sourced camel bone, which gleam like ivory against the metal and ceramic. Further embellishing the design are bezel-set cabochons of colored resin in turquoise, coral red, and deep blue, adding jewel-like accents to the complex geometric and floral motifs inspired by Andalusian and Islamic art. The result is a richly textured, opulent object that commands attention.

Standing at an impressive height, this vase is not merely a container but a piece of sculptural art designed to be the centerpiece of a grand foyer, a luxurious living room, or a sophisticated collector's niche. Its substantial presence and intricate detailing speak to dozens of hours of skilled labor, making each piece a unique testament to Morocco's enduring craft traditions.

"Every imperfection tells a story of human hands at work."
