The Narrative

The Soul of the Object

This spectacular vase is a masterpiece of dual craftsmanship hailing from the historic city of Fez, Morocco. It represents a harmonious marriage of two traditional artisan skills: ceramic pottery and metalwork. The base is a hand-thrown terracotta vessel, meticulously hand-painted with classic cobalt blue and white geometric and floral motifs, a signature style of Fassi pottery. Following the glazing and firing process, a second artisan painstakingly encases the entire ceramic body in a cage of ornate metal filigree. The metal overlay, crafted from a polished nickel-silver alloy, is hand-cut, hammered, and soldered into exquisite arabesque patterns that allow the vibrant blue ceramic beneath to peek through. The result is a stunning interplay of texture, color, and shine. The vase features a tall, slender neck that flares at the rim and a voluptuous, bulbous body that tapers gracefully to the base. This is not merely a vase but a substantial work of art that commands attention as a luxurious statement piece in any interior.

"Every imperfection tells a story of human hands at work."
