The Narrative

The Soul of the Object

This magnificent centerpiece bowl is a stunning example of Moroccan mixed-media artistry, where the earthy tradition of ceramic meets the opulent gleam of metalwork. The piece begins as a hand-thrown earthenware bowl, glazed in the classic cobalt blue and white patterns synonymous with Fes pottery. It is then painstakingly clad in ornate brass plates, transforming it into a heavy, luxurious object d'art.

The metalwork features a radiant central star medallion that expands outwards in petal-like geometric layers, a design known as 'سطر' (satar) or lined patterns. Each brass section is adorned with intricate hand-chased engravings of arabesques and floral motifs, framed by the exposed blue ceramic beneath. The substantial rim is embellished with raised metal bosses, adding texture and a sense of ancient grandeur.

More than just serveware, the "Zahra" bowl is a statement piece reflecting the soul of Moroccan craftsmanship. It is substantial enough to anchor a large dining table as a fruit bowl, or it can be mounted on a wall to display its complex beauty as architectural art. The interplay of cool ceramic and warm, textured metal ensures it catches the light beautifully in any setting.

"Every imperfection tells a story of human hands at work."
