The Narrative

The Soul of the Object

This magnificent wall charger is a testament to the master craftsmanship found in the ancient medinas of Morocco. Beginning with a base of hand-thrown earthenware coated in a smooth, creamy glaze, the piece is then transformed into a work of art through the application of an elaborate metal overlay. The design is a complex radiating arabesque, centered around a striking medallion and expanding outwards in a star-like pattern of geometric and floral motifs.

Every inch of the silver-toned metalwork is painstakingly hand-embossed, filigreed, and studded by a skilled Maalem (master artisan). The contrast is heightened by the application of black enamel within the recesses of the metal, making the raised silver patterns gleam with an almost three-dimensional effect. This technique, blending ceramic art with fine metalworking, is a specialty of Fes and requires days of meticulous labor to complete a single piece.

More than just a decorative plate, this charger is a substantial piece of wall art designed to be a focal point in any room. It brings the opulent aesthetic of a Moroccan palace into your home, reflecting centuries of artistic heritage and cultural pride. It is intended solely for decorative use and is not food safe.

"Every imperfection tells a story of human hands at work."
