The Narrative

The Soul of the Object

This magnificent urn is a testament to the master craftsmanship found in the heart of Morocco. It is a striking fusion of two traditional art forms: pottery and dinanderie (metalwork). The base is hand-thrown terracotta, finished with a vibrant, deep emerald green glaze that features a distinctive crackled, antique patina, reminiscent of ancient Tamegroute pottery but with a more refined finish. Over this ceramic body, skilled artisans have painstakingly fitted an elaborate suit of hand-hammered metal cladding. Using a combination of copper, brass, and silver-toned alloys, the metal is repoussé and chased with intricate floral arabesques, geometric patterns, and raised studs. The design is further embellished with two sturdy, decorative handles featuring captive rings. The interplay of the gleaming, textured metal against the rich, organic green glaze creates a piece of unparalleled visual depth and grandeur. Standing as a substantial statement piece, this urn evokes the opulent decor of old Moroccan palaces and riads. It is designed to be a centerpiece, perfect for displaying on a large console table or directly on the floor in a grand entryway or living space. Each piece is unique, carrying the individual touch of the artisan who created it.

"Every imperfection tells a story of human hands at work."
