The Narrative

The Soul of the Object

This magnificent oval dining table is a masterpiece of Moroccan craftsmanship, featuring a sprawling surface of intricate zellige mosaic work. The design is anchored by two prominent central medallions—complex sixteen-pointed stars radiating in deep blues, emerald greens, terracotta reds, and mustard yellows against a crisp white background. Surrounding these focal points is a mesmerizing field of smaller, interconnected geometric tessellations, framed by a distinct border that accentuates the table's elegant curvature. Handcrafted in the historic kilns of Fes, this piece represents hundreds of hours of labor by skilled 'maâlems' (master artisans). Each individual tile is hand-chiseled from glazed terracotta using a sharp hammer, a technique passed down through generations. The tiny, precise shapes are then laid upside-down in a negative mold before being bound together with cement, creating a perfectly smooth, durable surface. More than just furniture, this table is a durable piece of functional art suitable for both indoor dining rooms and outdoor patios. Its substantial weight and robust construction ensure longevity, while the timeless Andalusian design brings the vibrant soul of North Africa to any gathering space.

"Every imperfection tells a story of human hands at work."
